HighEdWeb 2016 Conference Evaluation >
Welcome to #heweb16!
Attire
Dress at the conference is business casual – with a strong emphasis on the “casual.” Jeans, t-shirts, sweaters and khakis are common, both during the conference sessions and at evening events. A note: session rooms can be chilly, so you may want to bring a sweater or dress in layers.
Weather

Memphis in October is wonderful! Daytime temperatures should range between the mid-60s to the mid-70s (F), and evening lows will be in the low 50s.
Having said that, remember that Memphis is located on the Mighty Mississippi and the city can be quite windy. A windbreaker or hoodie is a good option for outerwear.
Conference Check-in
Your first stop at HighEdWeb 2016 should be the registration desk in the Memphis Cook Convention Center, where you’ll check in to grab your conference badge, materials and conference gifts.
The registration desk hours are:
- Sunday, Oct. 16: 11 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 17: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, Oct. 19: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
NOTE: For Annual Conference attendees also registered for one of the Academies (Leadership, Integrated Marketing, or Technical): Report to the Memphis Sheraton Downtown for your Academy before 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. You will ALSO need to check in separately on Sunday or Monday for the HighEdWeb Annual Conference.
Lanyards/IDs
Your conference ID badge, which you’ll receive upon conference check-in, must be worn at HighEdWeb sessions and events, including networking events. Your badge is your golden ticket of admission to all the fun.
Your badge also has a lot of critical information on it so be sure to keep it handy!
Workshops
Pre-conference workshops begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, in the Memphis Cook Convention Center. Allow time on Sunday to check in at the registration desk before your workshop. Lunch for all pre-conference workshop attendees, HighEdWeb conference presenters and Academy attendees will be provided at noon on Sunday in the Memphis Sheraton Downtown.
Post-conference workshops begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the Memphis Cook Convention Center.
If you would like to add a pre- or post-conference workshop to your conference experience, you may add on and pay for the workshop at the registration desk, as attendance allows.
